STRANGE TEACHING - THE EXHIBITION

After two weeks of adventures of all kinds in this freezing cold, unhealthy, filthy, dusty, dirty, humid, delapidated but terribly inspiring former department store our multi store plattform was redefined into an exhibition hall with distinct art works to see for 2 full days. This practice is consstent with the German Rundgang at any art academy where yearly productions are presented to a public for a short limited time frame. Not all the invited artist /participants /stundents showed their works since many things were time based performances or collective works. Some people also had to depart earlier and no shipping precautions were put in place. The place wihch often felt like a dark ship beyond navigation with spare lightening and even less electricity attracted all kind of people - artists, musicians, art students, non artists, etc... - who some participants knew to include also added to the general poetic confusion which did not erupt into any kind of melt down.

Frustrations with the working conditoins and organizational sub standard solutions were barely visible and only translated into a nice chill out detachment which turned my function as a non-curator sometimes into an energizer and general motivator running around and begging people to show their works for an imaginary pubic which I mostly expected and still have been expecting from a post-event on line presence including an imagined publication which is my next goal for everybody involved. Only on my trip to Leipzig did I make myself familiar with Twitter (strangeteaching) and Instagram(strangeteaching) for the first time and filmed and blogged non stop.

Below see individual art works which I try to update and label though some names and titles of art works are not familar to me. On Instagram you can find many short interview clips wiht the people.  ( so far, I have even 10 followers -- thought not all people need to be followers to view clips)

More will be updated soon.. (but currently my own work and obligations start consuming me and "LAND IS IN SIGHT")

these guys restored a 1 meter wide strip of the third floor of the building including the ceiling, the windows and heaters as if creating a properly restored loop  -- believe it was a 10 day tour the force up to midnight every day to bring that strip up to code

this installation is hard to photograph due to the changing circumstances of the light and its reflection - also see. how the surrounding dirt accumulates quickly on the resordet hard wood floor (germ. Parketboden)
